NOT A DISCLAIMER

NOT A DISCLAIMER: It is always necessary to add a statement when writing about numbers. The study of numbers in Scripture should not draw you away into a realm of make-believe and into a world of notional or speculative ideas, this is the danger in the study of numbers. Always stay grounded in the basics and allow the Holy Spirit of God to reveal to you the spiritual lessons through numbers.

The system of verse and chapter numbering in the Old Testament was first used by Rabbi Nathan in 1448 A.D., and the New Testament numbering system came about in 1555 A.D. through the work of Robert Estienne (aka Robertus Stephanus).

The numbering system was known by the Holy Spirit of God BEFORE it was initiated, so I do not have a problem with using numbers to reinforce the messages within the numbers. Remember, that numbers like eight notes of music can play many different tunes. There is also a positive and negative side to numbers, and this is also reflected by the Spirit of God. Do not become obsessed with numbers that you remove yourself entirely from the lessons in the numbers. I cannot say this enough, stay focused on what God is revealing about Himself through numbers not what God is revealing about numbers.
