Introduction to Negative Numbers in Scripture

Don’t panic, this is not about Mathematics, so relax. God’s spiritual numbering system includes the numbering system of opposition. The entire construct of the human race is based on evil versus good: Satan versus God, man versus man, nation versus nation. The earthly numbering system is a vast area reflecting the complexity of the universe of spiritual numbers; for example, there are rational numbers and irrational numbers, natural numbers and whole numbers. BUT we are going to be setting before you NEGATIVE NUMBERS with spiritual concepts such as debt, debit, deficit, shortage, and mankind in his sin found wanting.

MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN

And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. (Daniel 5:25)

This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

(Daniel 5:26)

TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting (Daniel 5:27)

PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. (Daniel 5:28)

God has a way with words and numbers that when He numbers a nation, a king, or any individual and they are found wanting there is no recovery for them. Thus, God’s spiritual numbering system takes in more than just positive numbers, but negative numbers as well.
