Bits and Pieces is just that. A little bit taken from a post, and a piece taken from another post. A bit here and a piece there all gathered into many bits and pieces to add to your understanding of the beauty of scriptural math. There is more to learn about the number 3.Â

Let us look again at the phrase living water. This phrase occurs three (3) times in the New Testament, and only in the New Testament. Three (3) being the number of God in His fullness: the Godhead bodily being God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Living water flows as an eternal source of life eternal. Here the spiritual principle of everlasting life is expressed through the power of living water, cleansing water, pure water, satisfying the thirst of dying man.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. (John 4:10)
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? (John 4:11)
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38)
Then in Jeremiah 2:13, we read, For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, [and] hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. In this reference we have the phrase living waters (plural). Not living water, but we have living WATERS. This is the only mention of living water, or living waters in the Old Testament. Interesting indeed. There are three (3) references in the New Testament because it is in the New Testament that the Godhead is openly revealed: God the Father sent His Son in the fullness of time to accomplish (through His determinate counsel) God’s redemptive plan. And it is through the New Testament that the Holy Spirit of God is also revealed as the Comforter (yet to come) and as the cleansing agent in action in God’s great plan of salvation. Therefore, the phrase living water is perfectly presented in principle, in truth, in its numbering sequence, and in its definition.
There is only ONE reference in the Old Testament because Jehovah first sets the principle of ONE GOD to His nation, Israel . . . He is the fountain of ALL living waters. Deuteronomy Chapter 6, verse 4, reads, Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD. It is in the Old Testament that His Son is seen through the sacrifices and offering. God teaches line upon line, precept upon precept, He slowly builds (as a Master Teacher) His precepts to the point of fulfillment that comes in at the fullness of time in the New Testament. Consequently, Jeremiah 2:13, enfolds that Jehovah is THE FOUNTAIN from which living waters flow. He is the Head of the fountains of living waters: ALL FLOWS FROM HIM. The HEAD of a river or stream is where everything begins, and then the waters flow out into channels or streams; therefore, the Holy Spirit of God through the word of God teaches about Himself not only through creation, but He also teaches spiritual truths through creation. There is no end to the word of God. At every word, and phrase, and number sequence there is more and more to be learned about our Creator God. Bible study is endless.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38) The Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed that IN Him and THROUGH HIM flowed living waters of everlasting life, and He confirmed this when He spoke to Philip.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. (John 14:8) Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (John 14:9)
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. (John 6:45) Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. (John 6:46) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (John 6:47)
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:Â (Colossians 1:15)
The Lord not only confirmed that IN Him flowed the waters of eternal life, but He also added to in the gospel of Mark, Chapter 12, verses 29 and 30, that there is ONE God and ONE Lord.
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:Â (Mark 12:29) And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.(Mark 12:30)
Then again in the gospel of John Chapter 20, verses 28 and 29, the resurrected Savior accepted and acknowledged the worship of Thomas when Thomas uttered the words, My Lord and my God.
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. (John 20:28) Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. (John 20:29)
