The Baby Basics of 49

This is an except taken from the article posted under the title of The Supernatural Man – Part iii – Let Us Go Down

Back to John 8 once more, the pronoun that the Lord Jesus used referring to Himself, ‘I,’ is used by the Savior 49 times. Remember that this is one of the last times that He dealt with the collective body of the Jews at the Temple. Forty nine (49) times He said ‘I,’ could this be His last declaration for now (one number short of 50); we are waiting for the Day of Jubilee (50) in His millennial kingdom. In the day of Jubilee all is put aside, and all begins anew. The 49th year begins the day of atonement. This number 49 is only mentioned once in Scripture — setting a time frame in symbolism to the day of atonement. There are no scriptural accidents in words, phrases, numbers because God the Holy Spirit makes no mistakes.

And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. (Leviticus 25:8) (Brain food: notice the seven’s (7), four times we have the number 7, (7²), 7² =49)

Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. (Leviticus 25:9)

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.(Leviticus 25:10)
